Strongest in the Current Era Because of a Summoning Bug ~All my class was supposed to be summoned to a parallel world, but I alone remained and was taken into a mysterious organization~ - Chapter 22
Chapter 22 – Hisame’s Resentment
The white robed woman evaded the falling lumps of ice like she knew from the start where they would fall.
A beautiful black haired girl suddenly stood before Eiji. She was grasping her Japanese sword, now having changed into her military uniform from the Shinmei High School uniform.
“Hisame!”
It was her.
“Sorry I’m late, Hisaka Eiji.”
Hisame apologized while glaring at the white robed woman. Eiji was worried about her openly using sorcery in such a popular spot, but he noticed that there wasn’t anyone else around them anymore. Her underlings, the black suits probably put up a barrier.
“Hisame, I think she’s-”
“No need. I know.”
Step by step, Hisame carefully started approaching the white robed woman.
“I know interferences from parallel worlds have been getting more common, but it’s extremely unnatural for multiple events to occur at the same time in the same town. I knew there had to be someone behind it, but… I never thought it’d be you.”
She stopped when she was in range to use her Japanese sword, and she thrust at the white robed woman with its sharp tip. The white robed woman just grinned.
“Ahah, it’s Hisame. Long time no see!”
“Don’t talk like we’re friends.”
“Come on, don’t be cold. I thought we were really close.”
Her tone of voice is clownish but she doesn’t seem to be lying.
“You’re acquaintances?”
“No!”
Hisame firmly said no.
“We’re not acquaintances. Hisame and I are close friends.”
“Like I said, we’re not!”
Getting angry, Hisame thrust again with her Japanese sword and the white robed woman easily dodged. Her hood was cut, however, and her bare face which she had been hiding until then was exposed.
“Oh man. Well, it’s okay. You’re here now, so there’s no point in trying to trick anyone.”
She had medium straight hair with white streaks. Her doll-like face gave her an innocent feel and she looked to be around the same age as Hisame.
“I’m Shirowarabi Honoka. I’ve been friends with Hisame here for as long as I can remember.”
She smiled as Eiji’s figure reflected in her reddish eyes.
“Shirowarabi..?”
Eiji had heard that name before. It was the name that made Hisame mad when Kodama said out loud.
“…You bitch.”
Hisame was faintly trembling with rage as her mana instantly started swelling up.
“Don’t pretend like that’s your name!!!!”
Hisame took off running. She flashed her blade with explosive momentum at the white robed woman – Shirowarabi Honoka. Shirowarabi quickly dodged all of the slashing attacks but she was amazed to see that the white traces of light left behind had formed a magic circle.
“Just try and pretend to be my friend with that face and voice, and see what happens! I’ll do more than just cut your head off!”
She snapped her fingers. Then, two ice scythes materialized from the magic circle and cut at Shirowarabi’s delicate body.
“Ahah, you couldn’t do that before.”
Shirowarabi’s crystal ball broke. The pieces turned into a mass of light and covered the ice scythes and quickly broke it apart.
“Tsch.”
Hisame clicked her tongue and launched ice pebbles like she was firing a machine gun. The mass of light turned into a wall and blocked the pebbles but Hisame also attacked with her Japanese sword at the same time.
Hisame continued repeatedly attacking with sorcery like a starving animal. She wasn’t even getting tired and Eiji could do nothing but stare while being overwhelmed by her power.
What kind of relationship do Hisame and Shirowarabi really have?
They both used the word ‘friend’, but something was strange.
Hisame got furious because of the word ‘friend’ and is trying to kill Shirowarabi. Shirowarabi is hard to read because of how detached she is, but she definitely doesn’t look like she has friendly feelings for Hisame.
“You’re really strong as usual, Hisame. Maybe you’re not good enough to beat me, though.”
Clink!
This was Shirowarabi’s first attack, and the mass of light blew the Japanese sword off. Hisame lost her weapon but she started casting again by snapping her fingers without any fear.
A massive magic circle painted the sky blue white.
Immediately after that, a massive ice pillar as tall as a floor of a building started falling down from the magic circle.
“Oh, this is impressive. I can’t even use Chanting to dodge something of that scale. I’m impressed you were multitasking and preparing while fighting me.”
Shirowarabi looked up to the sky as if she was impressed. She was completely calm, and in fact smiled boldly.
“It’s a shame, though. I know all about you, you see. I knew exactly what kind of weapon you’d use!”
Shirowarabi controlled the mass of light and instantly drew a magic circle. A single ray of light shot out from it, which burned through a part of Hisame’s magic circle. That was enough to cause the spell to malfunction and the ice pillar melted before disappearing.
“Shit…”
She had used a lot of mana on that massive spell, and Hisame was now on her knees breathing heavily. She still continued bravely glaring at Shirowarabi, but her limit seems close.
“Ah, right, Hisame. I just got a great idea.”
Shirowarabi approached the ice rain. A white light covered her index finger on her right hand.
“Maybe I should make you a hero next time.”
“S-Stop..!”
The white light pushed on Hisame’s forehead. She’s trying to put a ‘mark’ on Hisame and get her summoned to a parallel world.
Hisame desperately opened her eyes wide as Shirowarabi grinned.
Then…
“Oh?”
A sudden Fireball was shot from the side and Shirowarabi dodged it with a backstep. Eiji moved in front of Hisame using this chance and took a bare-handed grappling pose.
“H-Hisaka Eiji! Don’t do anything! I’m going to-”
“No. I’m not going to listen to that order. I honestly don’t know your history, but that bitch sent Yuuhi and my classmates to a parallel world. I have a right to beat the crap out of her too, don’t I!?”
Eiji interrupted Hisame and spat out the anger he felt towards Shirowarabi.
“I’ll help too.”
