After school the next day.

 

I came to a personal training ground with the silver-haired angel after she asked me to.

 

At Sincerity High School, there are personal training grounds for students working as explorers.

 

There are 12 of them lined up, and they’re big enough to hold four people at a time.

You need to make an appointment before using them, but students in the student council are treated favourably, so we were able to simply walk in thanks to Miss Kamui.

 

I’m not sure if it’s okay to use her authority for something like this, but I stayed quiet since I didn’t want her to get mad at me.

I can see the emotion on her usually expressionless face, which is rare for her. A chill then started spreading around us at the same time as the walls around us and the roof turned white.

 

Feeling the cold on my skin, I understood again the dread of the cold air that she always talks about.

 

Am I… Am I going to get frozen here today?

 

Did she bring me here to beat me up for making her cry yesterday?

 

With that in mind, I reflexively took a fighting stance against her.

I took a step back, and she squeezed her hands tight while glaring at me.

 

“M-Mhm. That’s good.”

“N-No! You don’t have to apologise! I’m the cause in the first place.”

 

“Suzuki, why are you so nice to me?”

 

“Huh? I-It’s… It’s because I made you cry, so I have to take responsibility for that. I don’t want my little sister to make fun of me later.”

 

“You have a sister?”

 

“Yeah. I have a cute sister one year younger than me.”

 

Still, the cold air she’s releasing is really something else.

 

I’m okay for now, thanks to my Cold Resistance and Freeze Resistance, but the handkerchief froze up in an instant.

 

“Is it always like this?”

 

“Mhm. That’s why I have to keep pushing it down.”

 

“That sounds really hard.”

 

“Yeah. I’m used to it now, but I can only let go like this on the training grounds or when I’m at home.”

This girl, trying to face her trauma after her scary memory of losing control of Ice God’s Divine Protection, is glittering so beautifully before me that I’m almost a little jealous of her strong personality.
